One Act

I am founder and director of The One Act Players (the brawn) and One Act Audio Theatre (the brains), which together make up a non-profit organization dedicated to the unique and powerful art of audio theatre. Using digital production and distribution technologies, our works are available to listeners of all ages, across the globe. Whether it be through remakes of golden age comedy, science fiction, mystery and drama, or adaptations of classic and contemporary material, or original scripts by talented writers, we seek to bring Something New to Old Time Radio.

Our inaugural production, The Amazing Interplanetary Adventures of Flash Gordon, won the 2000 Silver Mark Time Award for excellence in science fiction.

In 2005 our production of Three Skeleton Key received an honorable mention award from the Ogle's (top audio productions in the category of horror or fantasy).

In 2006 One Act was tapped as the troupe to bring to life Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson's The Golden Apple, Book Two of the Illuminatus! trilogy for Deep Leaf's multi-voice read of this conspiratorial classic in counter-culture mysticism. In 2007 we reprised our roles for Leviathan, Book Three of the trilogy. The Golden Apple is available for download now from Deep Leaf Productions.

Original One Act scripts have been recognized by the Writer's Guild of America, the National Audio Theater Federation, and the BBC. One Act productions are curated in the Paley Center for Media (formerly the Museum of Television and Radio) in New York and Los Angeles.

Hi-Fi MP3s of much of our material can be heard on our free streaming audio site or you can shell out a few pennies and download our entire catalog. Some of our titles are available on old school limited edition CD-ROMs. Over 90% of the money we receive from sales and donations is spent on our future productions. Thanks for your support!
